‘The narcissist makes decisions for others to suit his/her own needs. The narcissist may use his or her romantic partner, child, friend, or colleague to meet unreasonable self-serving needs, fulfill unrealized dreams, or cover up self-perceived inadequacies and flaws. Therapy can help you to set ground rules and stick to them. You must develop a way to calm down and react in a consistent manner to the narcissist. Learning to take control by walking away decreases his/her power over you while maintaining your sense of self.
